Liezel Knoll – Brings out the softness in paintings

Said that

She Began her own medical aesthetic practice. That triggered her interest in faces, and she has since been focusing on large portraits of women with specific reference to facial expression and colour. She brings out the softness in most of her paintings but also successfully demonstrates the strength and confidence in the facial expressions of woman in a changing world. Her other passion in life is flowers, as can be seen in her colourful abstract flower scenes.

Liezl’s Motto:

“I want to see God’s beauty in people and nature Praise Him, while I live and create in His presence and share that with the world through my art “

Liezl was born and raised in Bellville, where after she studied Dentistry at the University of Stellenbosch. She graduated and qualified as a dentist as the top student in her class, even though she never truly enjoyed the field. During her lecturing years at the University of Pretoria, she attended a dental congress where she was exposed to the art of Dale Elliott at a workshop (for the spouses!). She was so inspired, that she signed up for art course with Dale in Knysna. Motivated and full of creativity, her art career began.

Her love of colour and textures is clearly visible in her artwork. During her years in Pretoria, she helped decorating homes throughout South Africa by selling many pieces through exhibitions, art dealers and galleries.
