The story

Benguela Galleries began as Penny Streeter OBE’s platform for the artists she collects and champions, from a working wine estate on Walker Bay to a historic sculpture park and a vineyard in West Sussex. It has grown into a rotating collection across three destinations, where the art is not hung in a room set aside for it but lives among the vines, the gardens and the people who come to visit.

“We all need to be reminded every single day how beautiful things around us can be, if we take time out to notice them.”

Penny Streeter OBE

Three destinations

Benguela Cove

A working wine estate on the Bot River Lagoon, where sculpture is set along the walk through the winery precinct and original work hangs in the tasting room and at Moody Lagoon.

Hermanus

Leonardslee Gardens

Two hundred and forty acres of Grade I listed gardens and lakes, with over 120 sculptures woven through them in partnership with the Surrey Sculpture Society.

Lower Beeding, West Sussex

Leonardslee Wine Estate

Part of the same estate story, a short drive away, with sculpture around Leonardslee House, the Vineyard Kitchen and the Wine Lounge.

Mannings Heath, West Sussex
