Being an artist

is to be aware of and recognize your talent whilst developing ones inner self. For some, this could take a lifetime, others sooner. I began sketching and painting at a very young age and have been painting now for 35 years and have never yet lost my passion.

I have always found tremendous inspiration from colour, various light shades, reflections, shadows and textures. Many of my works are "real" while others are imaginary. Painting to me is very uplifting, tremendously inspiring, and many times sacred, reminding me that it is part of God's creation. I find much joy and inspiration in my surroundings and this helps me to become more passionate and inspired.

Paintings That Speak to the Soul

The Philosophy Behind the Canvas

Being an artist demands awareness, not just of the talent one possesses, but also the development of the inner self. Some find this path early; for others, the journey might span a lifetime. My own tryst with colours began at a tender age, sketching and painting, leading to an artistic journey that has now spanned over 35 years.

Colours, their myriad shades, the play of light, shadows, reflections, and textures have always fascinated me. Some of my creations mirror reality, while others are born from my imagination. The act of painting is more than just putting brush to canvas; it's a spiritual experience, a reminder of the divine beauty of God's creations.

Each stroke of my brush aims to evoke emotions. When viewers gaze upon my works, I wish for them to be swept up in the moods, to understand the interplay of colours, shadows, and light, and to feel the boundless energy infused into every canvas through my techniques.

Painting, for me, is like setting poetry to music. It's a way to communicate, sometimes silently, echoing the rhythms and sentiments of life's journey.

Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to see over 2000 of my oil paintings find homes across London, America, Botswana, and my homeland, South Africa. My latest endeavour involves nurturing budding artists through art classes and showcasing their talents in a curated gallery space. Imparting my accumulated wisdom to my students and seeing their growth fills me with immense joy and fulfilment.
