Wildlife in Bronze & Resin

Twenty bronze and resin works line the walk through the winery precinct at Benguela Cove: a cheetah at full extension with every foot off the ground, two giraffe bulls locked in the slow combat of necking, a black rhino, a warthog, an otter, a hunting leopard, and an edition of the Archbishop Desmond Tutu bust. British sculptor Carol Bryant has studied African wildlife across Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Namibia and England, in the wild and in conservation settings, including time spent with cheetah and wild dogs at the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre near Pretoria.
Free to all estate visitors. Every piece is available to purchase throughout the six-month run, from smaller studies at R22,500 to statement bronzes for a garden or an entrance hall. The estate team can arrange viewing, purchase and delivery anywhere in South Africa. A private view with the artist runs on Saturday 3 October.

A seven-metre bronze by Anton Smit stands at Benguela Cove, a twin to the piece at Leonardslee Gardens in West Sussex. Two continents, one artist, one family of estates. Permanently installed, and on view whenever the estate is open.

A seven-metre bronze by the celebrated South African sculptor Anton Smit stands in the gardens, a twin to the piece at our sister estate, Benguela Cove, in Hermanus.
The rotating collection: Surrey Sculpture Society
Over 120 sculptures are woven through 240 acres of Grade I listed gardens and lakes, in partnership with the Surrey Sculpture Society. Included in every garden ticket. In winter, Leonardslee Lights illuminates a selection of the sculptures after dark as part of a wider light and sound trail.

Sculpture across the estate
Part of the same estate story as Leonardslee Gardens, a short drive away, and sharing the same collaboration with the Surrey Sculpture Society. Sculpture is found around Leonardslee House, the Vineyard Kitchen and the Wine Lounge, where a tasting or a meal comes with art on the walls and in the grounds.
