Chanelle: Professional Artist from Cape Town, South Africa

Chanelle Correia

“My philosophy in life is keeping it simple.  Less is more.  That applies to my work and to the rest of my life.  Mostly my art expresses my way of seeing things.  If I had to describe my work in one sentence, I would say it is my version of instilling beauty.”

Chanelle Correia artist statement

“Dedicating your life to become an Artist is the greatest gift and honour.  You not only choose to become an Artist as profession, but you also literally become it, and it embraces you, fills you and you are not able, or wish to become anything else.  We are all born to create something spectacular, and to be able to create so directly daily fills me with so much joy.

I paint, because this is who I am.  I am a creator, and I feel a deep sense of gratitude and honour to continuously perfect my skill.

Being an artist allows you to spend time with your own thoughts and in silence, and that gives you the gift on heighted intuition.  Through the process of painting your intuition guides you to explore, risk and create.

Through my work, I wish for the viewer to experience a sense of calm, awe and happiness.     I feel honoured and a deep responsibility to create something spectacular for the viewer and future owner.

I am at service and only a vessel through which art flows.”
